Overview
Landson – PT. Pertiwi Agung is a pharmaceutical company that grows rapidly in Indonesia. They have mission to supply quality, reliable, and beneficial health care products so as to consistently improve the quality of human life. Landson has arround 1500 employees with annual revenues of $ 20 Million.
 
Challenge
To have a single point of truth for a data or document
Almost all processes in Landson Company were done manually and disconnected with other processes. Thus, each department only had visibility for their own department. Because their department has their own “manual system”, it was impossible to have single point of truth for a document or data. This has resulted in slow decision making as IT needs great time and efforts to gather facts.
 All of those conditions forced company to deal with inaccurate costing calculation, longer planning process, redundant manual data entry and long lead time to produce accurate financial statement reports.
 
Solution
Oracle products combined with Star Performa's PERFORM methodology
Oracle products, Finance, Order Management, Purchasing and OPM (Oracle Process Manufacturing) combined with Star Performa's PERFORM methodology (Supply Chain and IT Implementation methodology) was considered an unbeatable package solution offered to Landson Company.
 
4 (four) main business flows consist of:
  1. Procure to Pay  business flows (requisition to receipt, supplier invoice to payment, receipt to assets, supplier return to settlement, supplier registration to account review),
  2. Order to Cash business flows (order to shipment, customer invoice to receipt, customer account review to payment, customer return to settlement),
  3. Financial business flows (subledger journals to post, assets to depreciation, and period end close to financial reports).
  4. Manufacturing business flows (concept to release, schedule to produce, product costing to inventory valuation, sampling to acceptance, quality issue to resolution, stability study development to evaluation, and inventory count to reconciliation).
 
Landson also enjoys all new features that only availale from Oracle e-Business suite R12 version, for example least costs formulation, stability study and multiple cost methods capabilities.
 
Results
Process integration and single version of truth of every transactions
Landson's immediate benefits after we went live at 13 March 2009 are process integration and single version of truth for every transaction that occurs at Landson.
After 3 months implementation of Financial Distribution and another 3.5 months implementation of OPM (Oracle Process Manufacturing) by STAR PERFORMA’s team, Landson’s investment was starting to pay off.
Order to Cash and Procure to Pay cycles flow seamlessly ensuring the single version of data to facilitate better communication between departments. every single transaction were already passed-on automatically to financials module for follow up and accurate accounting.
Direct integration among manufacturing, inventory and costing guarantees accurate inventory status and accurate manufacturing cost calculation, which help Landson to do accurate pricing for their products. Moreover, IT enables various variances analysis to better manage production costs.
Finally, as oracle e-business suite R12 went live in Landson, it has provide Landson with solid foundation to consolidate information and to synergize with its sister companies by standardizing on a common oracle platform.
